Rachel J. Schoner, Ph.D.

I am an incoming (2022-2023) Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance in the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.

My research focuses on non-state actor access in international institutions and the role individuals play in global politics. Motivated by protecting individual rights and liberties in the most repressive societies, I study how political actors, both individuals and civil society organizations, mobilize in international legal institutions to change the behavior of repressive governments and improve respect for human rights.

Originally from Virginia, I am a proud alumna of Emory University, where I jointly received my BA in Mathematics and Political Science and MA in Political Science in 2015.
